We are preparing to welcome our students back to campus and help support their faith journey in a variety of ways. Here, you will get a glimpse into one-on-one meetings with students, retreats, accompanying a catechumen during their journey to become Catholic, mission trips, opening week events, and the formation of disciples and leaders.
Consider making a donation at whatever level you choose to help us make a difference in the lives of our EIU students.
Our August Days of Giving Campaign runs from August 8th through August 20th. Help us by making a donation, sharing our link, and sharing with your friends why YOU LOVE this Newman Community!
You can purchase coffee for a student and campus minister for a one-on-one meeting. This meeting allows the campus minister to "walk" with the student on their faith journey throughout the academic year.
You can help subsidize the cost of a student encountering the sacraments, prayer, and fellowship at our Fall Panther Awakening Retreat. This is an off-site weekend retreat led by the students.
You can sponsor a student's resources on their journey to become Catholic. These resources would include RCIA classes and supplies, regular one-on-one meetings with a campus minister, and a retreat.
You can help send one student on a fall or spring mission trip to serve and encounter Christ in communities in need. These trips truly open the students' eyes to what it means to be on mission and give of themselves by serving those in need.
You can help us cover the costs of Opening Week events as we welcome students - new and returning - to campus. Activities include Bonfire with S'mores, Volleyball & Pizza night, Canoe trip, Newman Olympics, Milkshakes & Painting, International Student dinner and welcome, and other activities. This time is filled with the beginnings of some great friendships with students and staff and faith building.
You can help cover the annual cost of forming our students into Disciples of Christ and leaders in our community! This provides training, leadership retreat, silent retreat, bi-weekly one on one with a campus minister, weekly
faith formation and monthly leadership
formation. These 12 leaders are truly
poured into by our campus ministers,
chaplain, and each other. They will truly learn how to go be leaders in their Catholic Community after they graduate.
